Florida's Dry Season is almost here.

Many people say Florida doesn't have well defined seasons like other states, although lifetime Floridians do notice the changes. What Florida does have, just like many tropical places, is a wet and dry season.

Anyone who has spent time in the Summer in Florida can tell you the heat, humidity, and severe afternoon storms can almost be unbearable. Every day from May to late September those afternoon storms come rolling in like clockwork, right around 3:00. This makes it hard to get in a nice swim, plan a trip to the beach, or theme park.

The best time to be in Florida is the dry season. This last from October to April and is the reason so many tourists come to visit and why snowbirds exist. When the dry seasons hits, it is like a refreshing breath of fresh air washes over you, and outside activities are enjoyable.

The dry season is also the best time to open your windows and doors to let the crisp Autumn breeze blow in. Nothing is better than getting the stale air out and letting your house breathe. This is the time to sit outside in your screened in lanai or garage and watch the world go by.

What a great company! Our garage door screen separated on one side and we got an appointment for between noon and 2 PM today. At the stroke of 12, Bob arrives! He spent nearly an hour, cleaning all the rails, fixing a squeak and reattaching the side (it's basically a zipper but the frame needed to be removed to get to the ends). Very happy with his work. Update: so here it is, 3 years after our initial installation and one of our remotes went belly-up. After calling the company, we got an appointment for a few days later. Jack came to our house at the appointed time and performed some magic (aka, reprogrammed the remote) and within 10 minutes, all was right with the world! And under warranty, so no charge! Great company!

I highly recommend Michele's Hide-a-Way Screen company for you garage. The installer showed up right on schedule. He showed us exactly what he was going to do and proceeded. After installing, he meticulously powered the screen up and down to remove any uneven-ness and/or wrinkles. My garage floor wasn't the most level and he made absoluyely sure there were no gaps anywhere. Now our entire house has plenty of cross ventilation with zero leaves or bugs in the garage. Also, the privacy, while working in the garage, is a big plus.
